Hi!!! Below is my short Bio
I am a Chief Engineer by profession.
I have been sailing for the last 12 years. Passed out from MERI Kolkata in the year 2008. Joined Seaarland Ship Management as an Engine Cadet, over the course I have sailed in the past with British Petroleum and Anglo Eastern as well.
Today in Merchant Navy the jobs have reduced, there are a lot of frauds happening by agents and students are not getting correct information as well. With correct information we mean, information to join Diploma in Nautical Science course, BSc Nautical Science Course, Marine Engineering Course after Class 12th Boards. IMUCET Exam conducted by DG Shipping or Govt of India is very important but also important in case of DNS course is sponsorship. By clearing the Sponsorhip exam of various Shipping Companies like Anglo Eastern, Synergy, Scorpio, Great Eastern, Fleet Management, Torm Tankers and so on, a student gets placement first and then he joins the Course to become Deck Cadet. Whereas in the case of BSc Nautical Science and Btech Marine Engineering, one needs to sit for campus placement. The best College for Btech Marine Engineering are Tolani Maritime Institute Pune and IMU Kolkata but presently both are struggling with placement issues. Apart from that for BSc Nautical Science, one can take admission in Tolani Maritime Institute.
For Engineering students who are Graduate Marine Engineering aspirants, join my telegram group and try to focus on Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy, IMS Goa a priority basis. If you are not eligible for the above two Colleges then try for Samudra Institute of Maritime Studies, Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies, Maritime Training Institute Powai a part of Shipping Corporation of India.
If you are an aspirant to join Merchant Navy as an Electro Technical Officer or commonly known as ETO then join Anglo Eastern , presently they are the best in the Industry.
Joining the Shipping Industry is a great opportunity only if you make the right choices at the right time. A sailor’s life is not easy and one needs to understand the challenges associated with the daily life of a sailor as well.
There are a lot of blogs being written on the website www.merchantnavydecoded.com, for aspirants to get proper guidance as well.
