The actuator on my automated valve operates, but the valve won’t turn. Why?

Most likely the valve stem or actuator coupling is broken.

Why doesn’t my valve open or close completely when the actuator operates it?

The electric actuator limit switches or the pneumatic actuator position stops are not correctly adjusted.

When I energize the solenoid on my pneumatic actuated valve, the valve won’t turn. How come?

Probably because there is no air pressure to the solenoid or dirt has jammed it. Also, debris might be trapped inside the valve. Or, the air pressure is not sufficient to operate the actuator. Remember: measure air pressure at the actuator, not at the compressor.

Can I buy an actuator from one manufacturer and mount it to a valve from another manufacturer?

Maybe. First, be sure that the actuator torque output is sufficient to turn the valve reliably. Second, you will have to fabricate a custom mounting bracket and coupling to connect the actuator to the valve.

What happens if I lose power to my electric actuator in the middle of an actuation cycle?

The valve will stop somewhere between full open and close. When power is reapplied to the original circuit, the actuator will complete the cycle.

I ordered a fail open pneumatic actuated valve by mistake. I needed a fail closed one. What can I do?

To make the change just remove the actuator from the valve and turn it, or the valve stem, 90 degrees and remount the actuator.

I’ve installed my automated valve in the line, but now I don’t know if the valve is in the open or closed position. How can I find out?

Remove the actuator from the valve and check the valve stem. Most ball valves have stem flats at right angles to the flow when the valve is in the off position. On butterfly valves check the stem flow arrow marking.

Mano automatinio vožtuvo pavara veikia, bet vožtuvas nesisuka. Kodėl?

Tikriausiai dėl to, kad į elektromagnetą nesusidaro oro slėgis arba jį užkimšo nešvarumai. Be to, vožtuvo viduje gali būti įstrigusių šiukšlių. Arba oro slėgio nepakanka pavaros veikimui. Atminkite: oro slėgį matuokite ties pavara, o ne ties kompresoriumi.

Ar galiu nusipirkti vieno gamintojo pavarą ir sumontuoti ją prie kito gamintojo vožtuvo?

Galbūt. Pirmiausia įsitikinkite, kad pavaros sukimo momento išėjimo galios pakanka vožtuvui patikimai pasukti. Antra, turėsite pasigaminti specialų montavimo laikiklį ir movą, kad prijungtumėte pavarą prie vožtuvo.

Kas atsitinka, jei elektrinės pavaros maitinimas nutrūksta viduryje paleidimo ciklo?

Vožtuvas sustos kažkur tarp visiško atidarymo ir uždarymo. Vėl įjungus maitinimą į pradinę grandinę, pavara užbaigs ciklą.

Per klaidą užsisakiau pneumatinį vožtuvą, veikiantį "fail open" režimu. Man reikėjo uždarojo vožtuvo. Ką man daryti?

Norint atlikti pakeitimą, tereikia išimti pavarą iš vožtuvo, pasukti ją arba vožtuvo stiebą 90 laipsnių kampu ir vėl sumontuoti pavarą.

Linijoje sumontavau automatinį vožtuvą, bet dabar nežinau, ar vožtuvas yra atidarytoje, ar uždarytoje padėtyje. Kaip galėčiau tai sužinoti?

Nuimkite pavarą nuo vožtuvo ir patikrinkite vožtuvo stiebą. Daugumos rutulinių vožtuvų stiebų plokštumos yra stačiu kampu nukreiptos į srautą, kai vožtuvas yra išjungimo padėtyje. Vožtuvuose su durelėmis patikrinkite stiebo srauto rodyklės žymėjimą.

Ar elektromagnetinis vožtuvas, kuriuo valdomas oro tiekimas į pneumatinę pavarą, turi būti sumontuotas tiesiai ant pavaros?

Kaip prijungti elektrinę pavarą?

Patikrinkite, ar teisingai prijungta elektros laidų schema, pateikta kartu su pavara. Kartais kopija būna pavaros dangtelyje. Jei jos nėra, nesigilinkite į jungtis. Paskambinkite gamintojui ir paprašykite schemos.

Ką tik sumontavau elektra valdomą vožtuvą ir, kai jį įjungiu, vožtuvas pasisuka 360 laipsnių kampu ir neišsijungia. Kas negerai?

Pavaros laidai yra neteisingai sujungti (patikrinkite prie pavaros pridėtą schemą) arba išorinis valdymo jungiklis yra netinkamo tipo.

Mano elektrinės pavaros ciklo trukmė yra per greita, ar galiu ją sulėtinti?

Ne, nebent jį įsigijote su papildoma greičio reguliavimo įranga.

Ką tik pakeičiau elektromagnetinį vožtuvą elektra valdomu vožtuvu ir jis neveikia. Kodėl?
